The National Police Chief visited the Cathedral with the TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa and was witnessed by the Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani.

According to Listyo, the series must be carried out to anticipate the increase in positive cases of Covid-19 during the 2021 Christmas and New Year 2022 (Nataru) periods. He said last year’s experience in the Nataru period the increase in Covid-19 reached 2.5 times.
“Of course, all of this must be done to keep Covid-19 under control and the results are quite good where our positivity rate is below 1, we can still maintain this. Due to the experience in Nataru last year there was a 2.5-fold increase and it continues to rise when it comes to Eid al-Fitr,” he said.
Listyo said this was a lesson for all parties, even though according to him the control of Covid-19 had improved. Nevertheless, he appealed to all parties to remain vigilant facing the end of the year and entering the beginning of this year.
“Moreover, at this time we know that a new variant is currently being developed, almost 160 countries and 8 have entered Indonesia. So like it or not, we still have to implement health protocols strongly,” said Listyo.
