JawaPos.com – Every September 1, is celebrated as Women Police Day (Polwan). This year, the Policewomen of the Republic of Indonesia have entered the age of 73 years. Commemorating that day, the Gresik Polwan Polwan also enlivened it by holding a series of activities.
The Head of the Gresik Police, AKBP Arief Fitrianto, stated that the theme for the 73rd Anniversary of Policewomen this time was the Transformation of the Precise Police. Policewomen are Ready to Support the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19 for Healthy Communities and National Economic Recovery Towards Advanced Indonesia. “Because it’s still a pandemic, our activities are directed to social and community,” said Arief.
These various activities include blood donation at UTD Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Gresik. The donor activity was led by Iptu Sri Maryani and Ipda Dilla. “This humanitarian action is a form of policewomen caring and volunteering to help others,” said the 2001 Akpol alumni.
Previously, the Polwan Polres Gresik also carried out social services by distributing 400 food packages. The target is residents affected by PPKM in the Gresik city area. Arief praised the work of the policewomen in his environment. In fact, the heroines have a dual role. Namely, as a career woman and as a housewife. He also hopes that the policewomen can manage the time between official work and their roles as housewives.
”Stay with ethics, manners, personality, and quality. Thus, it can improve the performance of precise Polri organizations,” he said. He also prayed that, in the midst of this pandemic, policewomen are always healthy and Allah SWT always bestows guidance, guidance, and strength.
The policewomen of the Gresik Police have also carried out pilgrimages and sowing flowers at the Heroes’ Cemetery (TMP) on Jalan Pahlawan. “We from the Gresik Police Polwan pay our respects to the heroes who have died in the fight for independence,” said Iptu Sri Maryani, a policewoman from the Gresik Police Satlantas Dikyasa.
In every activity, he continued, each participant was always disciplined in health protocols (prokes). Start wearing masks, keep your distance, to wash your hands. “At the pilgrimage and sow ceremony, only members of the Gresik Police Polwan participated without inviting side agencies. The goal is to avoid crowds to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” said Sri Maryani.
