LAMPUNG — Meticulous auditing of state budgets yielded concrete results in uncovering three corruption cases within the jurisdiction of the Lampung Regional Police. The Special Crimes Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of the Lampung Police detailed the progress of these three cases, with total audited state losses reaching approximately IDR 14.16 billion.

Deputy Director of Special Crimes Investigation at Lampung Police, Police Assistant Commissioner Yusriandi Yusrin, accompanied by Sub-directorate Head of Public Information Police Assistant Commissioner E. Siallagan, presented the updates during an exposition at the Ditreskrimsus Headquarters on Monday (21/9/2026). Of the three cases presented, two have entered full investigation stages, while one remains in the process of fulfilling prosecutorial directives.

Three Case Clusters and Suspect Designations

The first case involves alleged abuse of authority regarding contract worker appointments within the Metro City Regional Government during the 2024–2025 period. Investigators named a suspect identified as W, a former official alleged to have signed appointment decrees without official proposals from relevant regional agencies. Audit results from the Lampung Regional Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) recorded state losses of IDR 7,387,808,000 in this matter.

The second case involves the Grand Mosque and religious tourism development project in Mesuji Regency, carrying a budget allocation of IDR 75 billion. Investigators identified irregularities spanning from planning to execution phases and have engaged construction experts from the Bandung State Polytechnic to reinforce evidentiary standards before final audit calculations are concluded with BPKP.

The third case highlights alleged credit facility abuses targeting village apparatuses through Bank Lampung, with state losses logged at IDR 6,774,000,000. Two suspects were designated in this case: AS, who served as a bank loan officer, and ES, suspected of acting as an intermediary while misusing identities of village residents to submit fictitious credit applications.

Expert Engagement and Investigative Accountability

In unraveling these three cases, investigators collaborated with external experts. Testimonies from state finance experts, criminal law specialists, and BPKP auditors were integrated to ensure every statutory criminal element was fulfilled prior to file finalization.

The Ditreskrimsus of Lampung Police reiterated its commitment to resolving all cases based on valid physical evidence and statutory regulations, continuing to examine potential involvement of additional parties beyond designated suspects.

Meticulously unraveling corruption cases that span months complements another vital operational dimension of criminal investigation—specifically the rapid deployment of Bareskrim Quick Response Units (URC) across resort and regional police levels in addressing street crime within minutes. Both demonstrate distinct facets of a unified mandate: swift agility when speed is required, and painstaking thoroughness when complexity demands diligence. Tracing budget flows to their origin embodies the mandate of #ReserseBekerja, ensuring every rupiah of state funds is transparently accounted for before the public.
