JAKARTA — A viral home burglary syndicate caught on surveillance cameras (CCTV) has been dismantled by law enforcement. The Quick Response Unit (URC) of the Bareskrim Police Mobile Brigade Unit arrested five suspects believed to have operated across multiple locations spanning from Bogor to South Tangerang.
Head of Bareskrim Mobile Brigade Unit, Senior Police Commissioner Teuku Arsya Khadafi, explained that the operation originated from a combination of cyber patrol analysis and citizen complaints submitted through official channels. Public reports provided the initial leads required for investigators to map the syndicate’s operational patterns.
Suspect Roles and Kota Tua Arrest
The five apprehended suspects are identified by their initials DK, DS, M, S, and A. Investigators established that DK, DS, and M acted as primary executors breaking into residences, while S and A served as getaway drivers.
Investigators identified suspect DS through CCTV footage recorded in Panongan, Tangerang Regency, on Saturday (19/9/2026). This visual lead enabled the Quick Response Unit to track and arrest DS alongside S and DK inside a vehicle parked in the Kota Tua area, West Jakarta. The remaining two suspects were subsequently apprehended in Tangerang before all individuals were transferred to the Bareskrim Polri Headquarters.
Screwdriver Modus Operandi and Financial Losses
The syndicate operated systematically during early morning hours, prying open window frames with screwdrivers to retrieve door keys and loot valuables. In Sukahati, Cibinong, the group stole a motorcycle, 40 grams of precious metals, and vital documents.
In Curug, South Tangerang, the group stole two Honda Scoopy motorcycles and three mobile phones, causing estimated losses of IDR 51 million. A similar break-in was logged in Pondok Rajeg, Cibinong.
Officers confiscated two motorcycles, six sharp weapons, and burglary tools from the suspects. Joint coordination with the Bogor Police and Curug Sector Police remains active to ensure full resolution.
