JAKARTA – The modernization of the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) operational system is increasingly taking shape through the presence of integrated technology in future patrol fleets. On the second day of the Technical Training (Latnis), the introduction to the DC 4×4 Hybrid Four-Wheeled (R4) Patrol Vehicle focused not only on the engine setup, but also on the digitalization of reporting systems. One of the main highlights during the presentation at Fave Hotel Cililitan on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, was the optimization of the SILANCAR feature for police officers.
The SILANCAR feature is an integrated intelligent system specifically designed by PT Qudo Nawakara Buana to simplify assignment management and field reporting for officers. In practice, this police operational application can be accessed directly via smart tablet devices permanently mounted on the dashboard area inside the cabin of the new patrol vehicles.
The medium-sized tablet screen also functions primarily to display live video streaming without local memory recording features, aiming to monitor real-time situations directly from inside the cabin.
Although the device is permanently available inside the vehicle, the dynamic nature of police work often demands high mobility outside the car. Therefore, the data input and assignment reporting mechanism of SILANCAR is also integrated into provided mobile phones.
This dual mechanism is considered significantly more effective for patrolling officers. “We also provide the SILANCAR application on mobile phones to make the reporting process more concise, especially to anticipate incident reporting needs when officers need to step out or operate outside the vehicle,” stated Renita from the SILANCAR team during the device simulation session.
The digital innovation and hybrid engine of the new fleet received positive feedback from the Latnis participants. Patrol Officer Second Class (Bripda) Muhammad Farhan, one of the officers attending the training, shared his perspective on the advantages of driving a dual-technology patrol car. He noted that the combination of electric power and fuel greatly assists police personnel in optimizing operational time efficiency on public roads.
“The main advantage is that it uses the latest technology—both electric and gasoline engines—allowing us to balance operational time. During patrol, we use the battery first. It is also made easier with the SILANCAR feature, enabling us to generate real-time reports,” explained Bripda Farhan during the interview session.
Furthermore, training participants stated that adapting to this cutting-edge fleet is straightforward. According to him, the core execution of patrol duties remains the same as daily routines, requiring officers in the field only to familiarize themselves with the new tech features. This digital transformation of reporting alongside eco-friendly vehicle efficiency is projected to boost officer responsiveness in serving the public to the fullest.
