92 New Omicron Variants Announced. In general, the total addition of cases is still dominated by foreign travelers.
“The number of Omicron infections has increased to 254. Of these, 239 are imported cases and 15 are local infections.” he explained.

December 16, 2021
The first case of Omicron infection in a caretaker at the RSDC Visma Athlete. This was announced by the Ministry of Health on Wednesday (December 15, 2021).
December 17, 2021
The Ministry of Health has carried out contact tracing since the first case was discovered. Five strong cases and two cases, Indonesian nationals from the UK and South America, tested positive.
December 21, 2021
On Wednesday (December 22, 2021), two new cases of Omicron were found.
December 23, 2021
A day later, three new cases were reported from Indonesian citizens who had just returned from Malaysia and Congo.
December 24, 2021
On Friday (December 24, 2021), as many as 11 new cases were reported from travelers from Turkey, Japan, South Korea and Saudi Arabia.
December 26, 2021
Since it was first reported on December 16, there have been 27 more omicron cases, bringing the total omicron cases in Indonesia to 46.
December 28, 2021
The Ministry of Health has published results on new cases of local infection. The chronology of events is as follows:
December 6, 2021: Patient arrives in Jakarta from Medan with his wife.
December 17, 2021: A patient visits a restaurant in SCBD, Central Jakarta.
December 19, 2021: The patient passed the antigen test and tested positive for COVID19 because he was returning to Medan.
December 20, 2021: Patient performs PCR test.
December 26, 2021: Laboratory results confirm that the patient is positive for the Omicron mutation.
December 31, 2022 (On Friday) : Indonesia confirmed 68 more Omicron cases, bringing the total to 136.
January 2, 2022
In the disclosure of the results of the WGS, the Surabaya Health Service has confirmed two local broadcasts of Omicron. The addition of this case brings the total omicron variant in Indonesia to 138.

The Ministry of Health recorded 92 new confirmed cases. The total number of Omicron infections in Indonesia now reaches 254, because most of the transmission cases are still dominated by foreign travellers. Of the total cases, there were 15 patients with local transmission of omicron.
