Efforts to control COVID-19 ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays continue. The National Police plans to implement an odd-even policy at all tourist attractions in Indonesia.
According to the instructions from the Minister of Home Affairs, all tourism objects are applied equally from Sabang to Merauke, all apply equally,” explained the Head of the Public Relations Division of the Police, Inspector General. Pol. Dr. Dedi Prasetyo, M. Hum., M.Sc., M.M., on Saturday (27/11/2021).
The odd-even implementation is planned to be held in conjunction with the 2021 Candlelight Operation, namely in the period from December 20, 2021, to January 2, 2022.
However, the Head of the Public Relations Division explained that there are no fines for odd-even violators.
“We provide education and information to the public to strictly comply with health protocols and obey the rules.” For example, if the timing is odd, it’s odd, “continued the Head of the Public Relations Division.
The Two-Star General also explained that through this odd-even, it is hoped that it will suppress the mobility of the citizens.
“Everything is the same in order to prevent the COVID-19 explosion from happening,” concluded the former Central Kalimantan Police Chief.
