Jakarta – Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono emphasized that there was no attempt by the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terrorism to criminalize someone in dealing with terrorism.
“Once again I want to convey that the actions taken by the Anti-terror Detachment 88 did not involve any attempts to criminalize anyone. Including the activities (arrests) carried out in Bekasi on November 16, 2021 yesterday,” Rusdi said at a press conference at the Public Relations Division of the National Police, South Jakarta, Wednesday (17/11/2021).
Rusdi explained that terrorism activities disrupt public security and order (kamtibmas) and can even disrupt the life of the nation and state.
The National Police is given the authority to deal with terrorism in the country, through the Anti-terror Detachment 88.
Densus said Rusdi, took an approach to understand the existing terrorism network, starting from the funding and also through the movement of people within the organization.
