The Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police have again arrested one suspected terrorist of the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network in Lampung. The terrorist with the initials P alias Mas Pur Bengkel was arrested by Densus in Bandar Lampung this afternoon.
“Satgaswil Densus 88 and Brimobda Lampung arrested 1 suspected member of the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) group on behalf of P alias Mas Pur Bengkel on Monday, November 8, at 16.25 WIB,” said Head of the Public Relations Division of the Police Public Relations Division Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan on Monday ( 8/11/2021).
Ramadhan explained that P was a member of JI who served as the General Chair of the Iqtishod Korwil Lampung. In addition, P is suspected of knowing the flow of funds disbursed by JI.
“The involvement of P is the General Chair of the Iqtishod Korwil Lampung and concurrently the head of the Iqtishod team covering the areas of Bandar Lampung, Pesawaran, and Pringsewu, knowing about the flow of JI funds in the structure of the Lampung regional coordinator,” he said.
“Following idad (physical training) activities held in several places in Lampung, being actively involved in various JI group meetings held in Lampung,” added Ramadhan.
Meanwhile, P was arrested by Densus without a fight. P is still being questioned by the police for further information.
Thus, the total number of JI terrorist suspects arrested since Sunday (31/10) has increased to 8 people.
Previously, Densus 88 arrested four suspected terrorists from the JI network in Lampung. One of them is a teacher at a boarding school (ponpes).
An Islamic boarding school teacher with the initials NA (42) teaches at an Islamic boarding school in Pekalongan District, East Lampung, Lampung.
While the other 3, with the initials S (47), F (37), and AA (42), are known to be private workers. They were caught without a fight.
