National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo attends a mass vaccination event and the delivery of social assistance organized by the 1997 Alumni Police Academy (Akpol) battalion Wira Pratama at the former Police Headquarters Building, Soetta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, Monday (20/9/2021).
The National Police Chief gave high appreciation for the activities of the 1997 Police Academy alumni which were held in 34 regional police ranks and three countries, namely, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
“Of course I give my appreciation to my younger siblings from generation 97 in all regions who have participated in carrying out vaccination and social assistance activities for the Indonesian people who are currently facing a difficult situation,” said the National Police Chief in his remarks.
On this occasion, the National Police Chief reminded that the Police continue to work optimally to help the Government in the context of controlling the Covid-19 Pandemic, including through the implementation of PPKM policies level 1 to 4 in regions throughout Indonesia.
The control strategy is expected to be properly guarded so that it is effective, not only in terms of the number of declining cases of Covid-19, but also the course of community economic growth. Corona virus control strategies include the enforcement of health protocols with 3M (wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance), strengthening 3T (tracing, testing and treatment and accelerating vaccinations.
“How do we return to normal life and restore the economy, which had declined due to the COVID-19 situation? On the one hand, how people’s activities in order to restore economic growth can still be controlled and the number of Covid-19 does not increase anymore. This is our challenge and it is the government’s policy to regulate gas and brakes in a balanced way, “the Chief of Police reminded.
On that occasion, the National Police Chief also took the time to virtually greet the Malaysian Embassy. He directly monitored the handling of the corona virus against Indonesian citizens (WNI) in the country.
On the one hand, the National Police Chief is grateful to all TNI and Polri personnel as well as Health Office officers who have been on duty tirelessly in an effort to reduce the number of Covid-19 so that the daily number of cases can be reduced to 2,200 per day, as well as the BOR of the Hospital which has reached 90 percent, currently only about 12 to 15 percent.
“The positivity rate is below the WHO’s 5 percent. Currently, we have a positivity rate of 2.19 percent. This is the result of the hard work of colleagues who are members of the team. I express my appreciation to all of our members wherever they are on duty because they have worked hard to reduce the rate of COVID-19,” he said.
However, the National Police Chief still reminds the public to continue to comply with health protocols and the apparatus continues to carry out socialization of health protocol disciplines to accelerate the acceleration of vaccination in order to achieve the target of communal immunity or community herd immunity.
“How should our President’s hopes be realized? We must be able to change from a pandemic to an endemic. We must be able to live and get used to coexisting with COVID. Of course, we have to carry out strong progress, our vaccination program to increase so that the community is ready to face these conditions,” the National Police Chief appealed.
In this mass vaccination, alumni of the 1997 Police Academy held it in 34 Polda Rangers and three countries. This activity will last for five days starting from September 18-22 2021. The total targeted vaccination in this activity is 63,400 doses of vaccine.
