On Wednesday (27/10/2021), a team of investigators from the Kediri City Police conducted a reconstruction of the murder perpetrated by MY (19), a resident of Banjaran Village in the Kediri City District, who had the heart to murder his own newborn infant. The culprit is thought to have been ashamed since she was pregnant and gave birth to the child out of wedlock.
The performers performed 34 sequences in the reconstruction. The first scene begins with the criminal attempting to defecate in his home’s bathroom. The culprit gave birth to a baby who was the outcome of an unlawful encounter while in the restroom.
“The culprit panicked as soon as the baby was born, so he stuffed the infant’s mouth with plastic sanitary napkins to keep him from wailing,” said the Kediri City Police’s Head of the General Crime Unit.
The perpetrator then took the baby behind the house and moved towards the Kresek river when the baby did not move.
Before being transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation documentation must be completed.
“So this reconstruction is to complete the case file,” said the General Crimes Unit of the Kediri City Police. “Hopefully next week, the file will be complete, and then we will transfer it to the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Prosecutor’s Office.”
To avoid crowds, the restoration took place at the Kediri City Police Housing. The culprits will be charged under Article 341 of the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum prison sentence of 15 years.
On Saturday afternoon, August 14, 2021, an infanticide happened. Residents discovered a newborn floating in the Kresek river or near the Kediri City TMP at the time.
