IDNAround – The beauty of tourist destinations in Indonesia has once more received world recognition, with Bali obtaining a world-class award from TripAdvisor through its annual Travelers’ Choice Award for Destinations.
Bali stood as the second most popular global destination in 2023, surpassing London in third and Paris in fifth place. Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno stated that the awards prove that the Island of the Gods was still at the top of mind in the tourism sector.
“Bali has risen from the fourth in 2022 to the second place in 2023, surpassing London in third and Paris in fifth,” said Sandiaga in a statement on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
The Travelers’ Choice Award for Destinations has several assessment indicators based on the quality and quantity of reviews from November 2021-October 2022. In addition to global rankings, there are sub-categories of accommodation, restaurants and a variety of other interests around the tourist attraction.
According to Sandiaga, this ranking shows that Bali is not inferior in offering tourist attractions as the quality of the tourist destination is considered world-class.
“Therefore, if any Indonesian attends to travel to heal, why bother going abroad? Going to Bali is enough to enjoy healing, improve the feeling as well as refresh, which won’t put the money down the drain, let alone have a headache,” said Sandiaga.
The hope, said Sandiaga, is that other archipelago tourist destinations besides Bali could become popular destinations for tourists, including foreigners. “We hope the tourist destinations in Indonesia can claim the first place in the world’s popular destinations in the following years,” he said.
