Jakarta – National Police Chief Gen. Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo instructed all ranks of the National Police to maintain good work in handling the COVID-19 pandemic, so that the rate of positive cases in the country can be controlled. This appreciation to all colleagues is a motivation for all of us to continue to maintain it,” said Sigit in a written statement from the Police Public Relations Division received in Jakarta, Saturday.
Sigit appreciates the hard work of the Police and other relevant stakeholders who have helped in handling COVID-19 so that the current rate of positive cases can be controlled.
Indonesia’s success in controlling positive cases of COVID-19 is appreciated by the international community, so it is trusted to organize various events such as the World Motorcycle Racing at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and the Indonesia Badminton Festival (IBF) in Bali.
“I as the National Police Chief express my highest appreciation and appreciation to all Polri personnel, both at headquarters, regional police, and on the farthest, remote island who have carried out all their hard work,” said the four-star general.
According to Sigit, the hard work carried out by Polri personnel in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in optimism for the Indonesian people to rise from the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In fact, thanks to the hard work working hand in hand in dealing with COVID-19, continued Sigit, Indonesia was trusted to hold the G20 and MotoGP Presidency activities at the Mandalika Circuit.
“These achievements and expressions of appreciation to all colleagues are motivation for all of us to continue to maintain a controlled handling of COVID-19,” said Sigit.
Sigit gave a number of directions to his staff at the Head of Regional Unit (Kasatwil) at the 2021 Kasatwil Apel which took place in Bali, Friday.
Some of the directions of the National Police Chief include the transformation to the Precision Police, mastery of technology in the digital era and information disclosure, and exemplary leadership.
The former Head of the National Police Propam Division said that every Polri personnel must have three competencies within themselves, namely technical competence, this is related to professionalism. Competent “leadership” when leading from the smallest to the largest units, as well as ethical competence.
“Instill good values to get used to it so that it becomes a daily behavior. It becomes a virtue without us realizing that if we can do this, the risk of committing violations will be reduced,” Sigit explained.
Furthermore, the management of the Precision Police transformation method is to prioritize the Predictive Policing pattern in order to prevent and resolve all social problems and crimes in the community. This, said Sigit, also regulates tasks by taking a preemptive, preventive and repressive approach.
The next directive is related to budget management. For this, Sigit asked to continue to maintain the existing positive trend by continuing to carry out their duties properly and account for the trust that has been given by the state to the Police.
Finally, regarding the leadership role model, according to Sigit, the Kasatwil must be able to provide understanding to members to get used to doing good starting from the smallest things. By getting used to behaving positively, it will always be embedded in the daily mindset. Of course it has an impact on individuals and organizations.
“Of course we have to get used to doing things that are good in nature. Starting from small things, such as activities to cross small children, parents, pushing cars. Small things like that,” said Sigit closing his directive.
