Temanggung – The annual cycle when entering the month of October, there is a transition from dry to rainy season. The peak of the rainy season is expected to fall in January and February 2022. This makes all elements of society starting from the TNI – Polri, Satpol PP, BPBD Temanggung, PMI Temanggung, and other related agencies prepare to face the peak of the rainy season.
The call for the deployment of the preparedness troops was held at the Temanggung Polres apple yard with a limited number of personnel and adhered to strict health protocols, through the Call for Alerting Troops and Disaster Management equipment in 2021/2022 as a vehicle to strengthen coordination, consolidation and communication of all parties.
The activity was led directly by the Temanggung Police Chief, AKBP Burhanuddin, followed by the Temanggung Police Deputy Commissioner Ahmad Ghifar Al Ahfaqsyi, the 0706/Temanggung Kodim Commander, Lt. Col. Czi Kurniawan Hartanto, the BPBD Head or his representative, the Temanggung Police Chief Officials, the Sector Police Headquarters, and other Forkopimda officials.
In his speech, AKBP Burhanudin said, in general the Temanggung Regency area from a geographical aspect has a very high potential for natural disasters such as landslides, hurricanes and floods. Handling natural disasters is not only the task of the Regional Government, TNI, Polri, BPBD, SAR and related agencies, but also the important role of the community.
“We do not expect a disaster to happen, but we must remain prepared and alert if it happens at any time,” said the Temanggung Police Chief, Monday (22/11/2021).
The Head of Police hopes that the readiness ceremony is not just a mere ceremonial, “This apple is expected to be not only ceremonial but really should be used as a moment to increase synergy in humanitarian tasks,” he continued.
He revealed that in disaster management, there are at least 3 (three) main things that we cannot leave behind, namely Pre-Disaster, Disaster Emergency Response Conditions and Recovery or Recovery.

After the deployment of the troops, the Chief of Police together with the Main Officials and Leaders of each Agency checked the facilities and infrastructure to deal with disasters.
“We have re-checked the facilities and infrastructure as well as the readiness of personnel in dealing with natural disasters. We work hand in hand, unite with the community in overcoming, handling and tackling natural disasters proportionally and professionally,” said the Police Chief.
