The National Police and the TNI collaborate in providing custody services and psychological recovery for children affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This step is to provide real support.
The National Police Chief Gen. Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized that the service aims to provide enthusiasm and motivation to children whose parents have just left. They will be given assistance like children in general.
“Regarding our children, apart from social assistance, it is necessary to provide special services that are psychological in nature, counseling, regenerating their enthusiasm for activities, continuing their life, and their aspirations,” said National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Tuesday (2/11). /2021).
The National Police Chief said that the activity, which was given the name psychosocial, was carried out simultaneously by all ranks of the National Police and TNI in the regions. Meanwhile, at the national level, it is centered on the National Police Education and Training Field, South Jakarta.
Furthermore, the National Police Chief said that children are the nation’s successor assets that need to be given attention in their growth and development. Especially children who have lost one or both parents, in order to grow up and continue their lives like other children.
The National Police Chief called children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic who lost one or both of their parents as “our children”. According to the National Police Chief, collaborative efforts from all parties are needed to intervene and provide care for Indonesian children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the Minister of PPPA, Bintang Puspayoga appreciated the steps taken by the TNI-Polri to intervene with the PPPA Ministry and the Ministry of Social Affairs in handling the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in providing psychosocial assistance to children affected by the pandemic.
“Psychosocial assistance is very important to restore the spirit of children who were abandoned by one or both of their parents,” said Bintang regarding the psychosocial services provided by the Police and the TNI.
