Jakarta – Ahead of the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) 2021, Health Workers (Nakes) of the Papuan Task Force (Satgas) of the Indonesian National Navy (TNI AL) in synergy with the National Police Headquarters held a vaccination attack on the Papuan people at the Papua Trade Center Field ( PTC) Entrop, Jayapura City, Sunday (12/9/2021).
Head of the Navy Information Service (Kadispenal) First Admiral TNI Julius Widjojono said the synergy between the Navy and the Police was aimed at the success of the XX Papua PON which will be held in October 2021.
According to the Kadispenal, the TNI-Polri vaccination campaign is to accelerate the achievement of herd immunity towards a healthy and free Indonesia from COVID-19.
“In addition, vaccination is very useful for protecting and strengthening the health system as a whole, maintaining productivity and reducing social and economic impacts on the Papuan people,” said Kadispenal in a written statement received by InfoPublik.id, Monday (13/9/2021).
The Navy and the National Police are targeting as many as possible vaccinations this time to catch up and fulfill the requirements for PON XX Papua 2021. A total of 80 health workers as well as the vaccinators of the Indonesian Navy and Police were deployed in this vaccination raid, which were divided into several teams. The vaccinators used the Sinovac vaccine for the first and second stages.
To attract people to be vaccinated, a number of basic food packages have been prepared for vaccine participants. Evidently the enthusiasm of the Papuan people packed the vaccination tent from morning to evening. Thus the hope of the target to welcome PON XX Papua can be fulfilled.
