JAKARTA – TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Menpora Zainudin Amali, returned to conduct briefings in Papua Province related to preparations ahead of the XX PON. This time, they gave a briefing to the Mimika Regency Forkopimda.
In his briefing, Sigit appealed to Forkopimda Mimika to prepare Extraordinary steps so that the Covid-19 growth rate does not increase during the national sports week event.
“We have to maintain the condition of the Covid-19 case in Papua, which has been sloping after the spike in cases on August 8, 2021, we must maintain it with extraordinary steps, lest there be a spike in cases again when PON XX Papua is held,” said Sigit while chairing a meeting with the Forkopimda Mimika. , Papua, Saturday (28/8/2021).
The preparation with this extraordinary step, said Sigit, could be done by implementing strict health protocols (prokes) for athletes, coaches, officials, invited guests, and the XX PON committee.
Regarding this, the former Banten Police Chief said that the strategy for handling and controlling the corona virus for all related parties must be carried out since departure, when arriving, and when settling during the match.
For participants who want to go to take part in PON, Sigit emphasized that they must do a Covid-19 test two or three days before the trip.
“Reduce physical contact with other people for 14 days before departure. Prepare a list of names of people who are in close contact to be validated by the Covid-19 PB PON XX officer. Implement health protocols according to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, including changing masks every day or cloth masks with 2 or 3 layers,” said Sigit.
Then when he arrived in Papua, Sigit encouraged Forkopimda to actively ensure the implementation of 3M (wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance). Submit Covid-19 test results.
Furthermore, when settling down to take part in the match, Sigit asked for extra strict supervision. Among them, limiting activities or only limited to carrying out tasks and roles. Adhere to regulated health protocols. Then, it is mandatory to report health conditions through the PB PON XX health reporting application or to the respective contingent doctors.
“If deemed necessary, a Covid-19 test will be carried out. Regular Covid-19 tests will be carried out during PON, according to their respective duties and roles. If the test results are positive, they will be self-isolated or referred to a hospital according to the Ministry of Health guidelines. Tracing will be carried out on close contacts,” said Sigit.
In addition, the former Police Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit also continues to encourage Forkopimda Mimika to continue carrying out the Covid-19 trial strategy, namely the strict 3M process, strengthening 3T (Tracing, Testing and Treatment) and accelerating the mass vaccination program.
Sigit instructed TNI-Polri personnel to assist or synergize with the local Government (Pemda) to accelerate mass vaccination. The goal is to accelerate the government’s target to realize Herd Immunity against the corona virus.
Strategy and accelerate vaccination in Papua, Sigit said, will prepare vaccine sites in schools to target students and parents. And, in places of worship for the community. In fact, later, the acceleration of vaccination will also be door to door to the district or village.
“To reduce the risk of transmission and death from Covid-19, the TNI-Polri together with the Regional Government continue to accelerate vaccination. To achieve this target, synergy between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) and the Regional Government as well as all elements of society is needed. In preparing the vaccination strategy, among others, vaccination attacks, vaccination booths, mobile vaccinations, and door to door, when vaccine stocks arrive in large quantities, “said Sigit.
On the other hand, Sigit also encouraged Forkopimda to carry out socialization and education to the community to want to undergo isolation in a centralized isolation place (isoter) that has been provided. According to him, this will be better for the recovery of people who have been exposed to the corona virus, because it is supported by adequate facilities and fully supervised by health workers.
“It is still preferable to isolate or quarantine in Isoter because it is under the supervision of medical personnel,” said Sigit.
Sigit emphasized that the implementation of the XX PON could also stimulate the economy of the local community. Therefore, the health factor in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic must be strengthened.
“PON XX Papua is successful and smooth, investment is safe, economic growth is increasing, Papua is more advanced and modern, the people are healthy and prosperous,” said Sigit.
