REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANTUL — The DIY Regional Police continue to distribute social assistance (bansos) to residents affected by COVID. This time, the social assistance was distributed to orphans in Gayam Hamlet, Argosari Village, Kapanewon Sedayu, Bantul Regency.
This activity is a form of concern for the families of COVID-19 infected patients. Which, in DI Yogyakarta itself, there are hundreds of children who became orphans after their parents died due to exposure to the corona virus.
The Director of Community Development (Binmas) Polda DIY, Kombes Pol Anjar Gunadi, had the opportunity to visit the homes of the recipients, Maulana and Sylvia. These two children became orphans because their parents were exposed to Covid and died.
For now, the two of them are being cared for at their grandparents’ house. Anjar emphasized that their arrival was not only to carry out the DIY Polda program to distribute social assistance, but also to stay in touch and pay attention.
Anjar said that for DIY there were around 600 orphans who had been given the social assistance. He emphasized that the distribution of social assistance is a form of mutual concern to help those who are affected by the disaster.
“Hopefully this assistance can ease the burden, as well as make people aware to help each other, brothers and sisters who are affected by disasters like this,” said Anjar, Friday (20/8).
