TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – The National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo launched the assistance of 1,000 oxygen concentrators for residents exposed to the corona virus.
Later, the assistance will be distributed to the Police Hospital (RS) and several Covid-19 referral hospitals throughout Indonesia.
Sigit revealed, the assistance of 1,000 oxygen concentrators was given mainly to people who were exposed to the corona virus. With this assistance, Sigit hopes to be able to meet the needs of residents and hospitals that lack oxygen.
“Therefore, to anticipate the future, we will today launch 1,000 oxygen concentrators which we will send to the Police Hospital and also other hospitals that are Covid-19 referrals in need,” said Sigit when releasing the oxygen concentrator at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta. South, Tuesday (3/8/2021).
The provision of this assistance, said Sigit, was to anticipate the lack of oxygen availability for Covid-19 patients. In particular, for hospitals in areas where the Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) has increased.
Moreover, Sigit continued, in recent times several hospitals have experienced an increase in BOR to 90 percent. That way, there have been several cases of lack of oxygen for patients exposed to the corona virus.
“This is part of our efforts to be able to meet oxygen needs, especially in some areas where the BOR rate is increasing,” said the former Banten Police Chief.
Therefore, Sigit said, the provision of oxygen concentrators can anticipate the obstacles that occur in the field. Given that currently, said Sigit, there are still 12 regions that have experienced an increase in BOR.
“Thus, we hope that with the oxygen concentrator, it is hoped that the needs of the community, especially those who need oxygen, can be helped by the presence of this oxygen concentrator,” said the former Police Criminal Investigation Officer.
Meanwhile, Sigit also appreciated all parties who have been willing to help related to the distribution of the 1,000 oxygen concentrators.
“Because of that, of course, I thank my colleagues who facilitated so that we were able to get and today we can distribute 1,000 oxygen concentrators which we will send to the Police Hospital and also other hospitals that are Covid referrals in need,” concluded Sigit.
