Merdeka.com – Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian asked for the supervision of the Satpol PP and the assistance of the TNI-Polri to oversee the implementation of restrictions on eating in places during the Implementation of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).
Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Ahmad Sahroni, assessed that such supervision was indeed necessary. Sahroni reminded that the duties of the officers in this field must be clear. So that there is no friction with the community.
“It must also be clear what these officers have to do, the SOPs are clear, there should be no friction in the field,” said Sahroni to reporters, Tuesday (27/7).
Sahroni said, when it was decided to limit eating in place for 20 minutes, it was natural that there was supervision. The number of stalls is quite large, he judged, an understandable reason why members of the TNI-Polri were deployed. The NasDem politician also reminded how effective and efficient the security forces are.
“Yes, if the rules have been decided to limit eating 20 minutes, like it or not, there must be supervision and enforcement of the rules. Because there are so many stalls, I understand why the TNI-Polri must be lowered to supervise. The question is about effectiveness and efficiency,” he said.
Previously, the Government imposed a limit of 20 minutes for visitors to eat at a maximum of 20 minutes in stalls or similar eating places in areas that implemented Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) -Police.
“Ensuring that this regulation can be enforced. Starting from persuasion, prevention, outreach, to coercive measures, of course, in polite ways and not using excessive force, which is counterproductive,” said Tito in a press conference held the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube, Monday (26/7).
Therefore, while eating, Tito hoped that he would not take any actions or activities that would cause droplets to occur and even talk while eating. According to Tito, the regulation has also been applied in several countries.
“It may sound funny, but abroad, in some other countries it has been enforced for a long time. So eating without talking much and then 20 minutes is enough, after that give turns to other members of the community,” he explained. [lia]
