TRIBUNJAKARTA.COM – Satpol PP, TNI and Polri will oversee the 20-minute meal time rule at the stall during the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities or PPKM Level 4.
The government limits eating time to a maximum of 20 minutes at stalls or similar eating places in areas that apply the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions or PPKM Level 4.
The Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian wants the implementation of the regulation to be supervised by the security forces.
“We hope that there will also be supervisors from the Satpol PP assisted by the TNI and Polri to ensure that this rule can be enforced,” Tito said in a press conference broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube, Monday (26/7/2021).

Nevertheless, Tito reminded the security forces not to use excessive force in enforcing health protocols.
He wants the Satpol PP, TNI and Polri to use persuasive methods, which are preventive in nature and outreach.
“Up to coercive measures, of course, in a polite manner and not using excessive force, which is counterproductive,” he said.
According to Tito, 20 minutes is enough for someone to eat at a warung or similar place.
The rules were made to prevent the accumulation of people.
Not only is the time limited, people who are in the dining area are also asked not to chat for long or laugh loudly.
This is because these activities will cause droplets or aerosols to be scattered, making them prone to transmitting viruses.
“It may sound funny, but overseas, in several other countries this has been implemented for a long time,” said Tito.
Tito also asked the public and business actors to understand and comply with these rules.
He said this was solely to prevent the spread of the corona virus.
“So eat without talking much and then 20 minutes is enough, after that give the turn to other community members,” said Tito.
To note, PPKM Level 4 has been extended for 8 days, starting from July 26 to August 2, 2021.
However, there are several changes to the rules, one of which is the opening of food stalls and hawker stalls.
“Food stalls, street vendors, hawker stalls and the like that have their place of business in an open space are allowed to open,” said President Joko Widodo in the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube show, Sunday (25/7/2021).
In the previous PPKM period, places to eat were only allowed to serve take away or take away.
Meanwhile, during the extension period of PPKM Level 4, visitors can eat on the spot.
However, there are restrictions on the time and capacity of visitors.
Health protocols must also be strictly enforced.
“With strict health protocols until 20 o’clock and the maximum meal time for each visitor is 20 minutes,” said Jokowi.
The government has finally extended the policy for the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities or PPKM until August 2, 2021.
The extension of the policy makes a new policy emerge.
One of the easing of PPKM Level 4 is that people are allowed to eat at street stalls.
“Food stalls, street vendors, hawker stalls and the like that have their place of business in an open space may open,” said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan in a virtual press conference broadcast on Youtube by the Presidential Secretariat, Sunday (25/7/2021). ).
However, Luhut emphasized that the food stalls must implement strict health protocols and limit operating hours to 20.00 local time.
In addition, visitors should not linger in the food stall.
“The maximum time, eating time for each visitor is 20 minutes,” he said.
Eating time in places is limited to a maximum of 20 minutes. This applies to areas with PPKM Level 4. Meanwhile, for areas with PPKM Level 3, eating in places is allowed up to 30 minutes.
Because you definitely have to take off your mask, Luhut said, in eating activities, you should not communicate or chat a lot.
“We recommend that while eating, because you don’t wear a mask, don’t communicate a lot, don’t communicate a lot,” he concluded.
Congregational prayer for a maximum of 25 people
The government, said Luhut, has allowed congregational worship in places of worship again.
Congregations are limited to only 20 percent capacity or a maximum of 25 people.
“A maximum of 20 percent capacity or 25 people by implementing health protocols,” said Luhut.
This permit is only valid for areas where PPKM level 3 is applied.
Meanwhile, PPKM level 4 is not yet allowed.
“Places of worship, mosques, prayer rooms, churches, temples, temples and pagodas as well as other places that function as places of worship can hold religious worship activities in congregation during the implementation of PPKM level 3,” said Luhut.
