REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Head of the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police Headquarters, Inspector General of Police Istiono said that his party and related agencies continue to evaluate each post for the implementation of the Emergency Community Activity Restriction (PPKM). Based on the evaluation results, it was agreed to increase the number of points from 651 to 998 blocking posts.
“So, now there are 998 isolation points,” said Istiono, when confirmed by the media crew, Wednesday (14/7).
In addition, Istiono ensured that the joint forces at the blocking location would turn back drivers in the non-essential and critical sectors who were still carrying out their work in the office. According to him, community participation is the key to breaking the chain of the spread of Covid-19. Therefore, he asked people who do not have urgent interests to stay at home.
“Essential and critical sectors are still allowed to pass,” said Istiono.
Meanwhile, the joint apparatus of the TNI, Polri and the Regional Government (Pemda) agreed to add additional isolation points in the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings during the Emergency PPKM period. With this addition, in total there are 100 points of blocking posts.
“These are the new 100 points of isolation that we will carry out tomorrow morning starting at 06.00 WIB, today we will socialize it,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Yusri Yunus, during a press conference at the Polda Metro Jaya, South Jakarta, Wednesday (14/14). /7).
According to Yusri, the addition of the blocking post points was carried out after his party carried out an evaluation related to the Emergency PPKM which had been running since July 3, 2021. Considering that during the implementation of Emergency PPKM, there are still people outside the essential and critical sectors who carry out activities outside the home.
“There was a decline in Google Traffic, we saw up to 50 percent and now there is an increase of 30 percent. It’s true that the buffer is quiet, but there are efforts by this community through rats,” said Yusri.
