Jakarta (ANTARA) – As many as eight people were arrested in connection with the burning of the Candipuro Police Office, South Lampung, and the eight people were suspected of being involved as provocateurs and following the arson.
“South Lampung Police investigators have arrested 8 people suspected of being involved in initiating the action, the provocateurs of the arson, and those who joined in the arson,” said Head of the Public Information Section (Kabagpenum) of the Public Relations Division of the Indonesian Police, Kombes Pol Ahmad Ramadhan during a daily press conference at the Public Relations Building of Headquarters Police, Jakarta, Wednesday.
According to Ramadan, many people were involved in the arson, but only eight people were secured.
The eight people were directly involved as provocateurs, initiators of the arson, and even participated in the arson.
Ramadhan said the arson case was handled by the South Lampung Police, assisted by the Lampung Regional Police.
Ramadhan emphasized that in this incident there were no fatalities from either members of the National Police or detainees at the Candipuro Police detention center.
Meanwhile, the Candipuro Police Office was damaged by a fire. The police office inventory items including firearms belonging to the police officers were successfully rescued.
“The condition of the building was damaged due to fire, which we conveyed that all police officers and detainees were safe and were not injured. This means that there are no victims, ”said Ramadhan.
Ramadhan said that until now members of the Lampung Police and Regional Police were still investigating the motive for the burning of the Candipuro Police Office.
The National Police received support from community leaders and local religious leaders to investigate the burning of the Candipuro Police Office.
