JAKARTA – The National Police officially gave the 2021 Menpora Cup pre-season permit, Thursday (18/2/2021). However, organizers are required to strictly enforce health protocols.
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo announced this together with Menpora Zainudin Amali at the National Police Headquarters, Thursday (18/2/2021) afternoon WIB. The police want to give football opportunities to roll in during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Today afternoon I will hand over a crowd permit for pre-competition (pre-season) activities. We want to give the opportunity, of course, with a note that enforcement of regulations related to health problems is the main requirement, “said National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
“With the agreement, we all have to work together to protect it. Good football, both the players, as well as the supporters anywhere in the future, if this is carried out, enforcement of the rules related to the prokes problem will become a priority, “he continued.
The closest football event to be held is the pre-season with the title Menpora Cup, which is scheduled to roll on March 20.
A total of 20 clubs with details of 18 Shopee Liga 1 clubs and two League 2 clubs will take part. They were divided into four groups containing five teams each.
The National Police Chief reminded the competition to implement strict prokes to avoid clusters of COVID-19 transmission amid the high number of positive cases in Indonesia.
“Maybe in the early stages, Menpora will hold pre-season (pre-season) competencies. “Of course we will see whether the implementation can be carried out in accordance with these conditions,” he said.
“If these conditions can be implemented, of course we will provide evaluations in stages,” he concluded.
