DEPOK — The Mobile Resmob Sub-directorate of the General Crimes Investigation Directorate at Jakarta Metropolitan Police successfully arrested three suspects involved in a safe theft at a grocery store in Pengasinan, Sawangan, Depok City. The incident occurred on Tuesday (29/9/2026) at approximately 4:45 AM WIB, when two perpetrators took advantage of a sleeping store attendant to enter and remove a safe containing IDR 5 million in cash and three mobile phones belonging to the victim.
Surveillance camera (CCTV) footage capturing the theft served as primary physical evidence for investigators to identify and track the suspects. Based on recording analysis and field tracking, officers arrested two suspects identified as RP and V in the early hours of Thursday (1/10/2026) in Bogor. RP allegedly acted as the executor, while V served as the getaway driver. V was apprehended at a boarding house in Tanah Sereal, Bogor City.
Fencer Apprehension and Evidence Confiscation
Subsequently, investigators arrested a third suspect, SB, in Ciluar, North Bogor, who allegedly acted as the fence for stolen property. Detailing individual operational roles highlights an evidence-based approach in solving this case.
