MEDAN — Uncovering illicit narcotics distribution at the grassroots level requires precision in analyzing criminal modus operandi and securing valid physical evidence. The Quick Response Unit (URC) of the North Sumatra Regional Police raided a garden plot used as a crystal meth distribution site on Pantai Labu Street, Gang Keluarga, Karang Anyar Village, Beringin District, Deli Serdang Regency, on Monday (21/9/2026) at 4:43 PM WIB.
During the operation, officers secured a 44-year-old man identified as A.I.H. after going undercover and purchasing IDR 50,000 worth of crystal meth from the perpetrator. This proactive measure directly addressed community complaints regarding illegal activities in their neighborhood.
Evidence Seizure and Suspect Interrogation
At the scene, investigators confiscated physical evidence comprising three clip plastic bags containing 3.38 grams gross of crystal meth, one digital scale, 50 empty clip plastic bags, a plastic spoon, and transaction cash.
During initial questioning, suspect A.I.H. admitted to purchasing 5 grams of crystal meth at IDR 700,000 per gram from a fugitive identified as Ehsan to repackage and retail for profit. Investigators are actively tracing the primary supplier to dismantle the upper distribution chain.
