The Head of the Regional Police (Polda) of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Inspector General Pol. Lotharia Latif reminded its members not to behave arrogantly during the Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) period.
This was conveyed by the Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police, Kombes Pol. Rishian Krisna, on Sunday (25/7/2021) night.
The Head of Public Relations said that the three regions that implemented PPKM level 4 were Kupang City, Sikka Regency and East Sumba Regency.
“The NTT Police Chief has given direction, emphasis and attention to all ranks in the three police stations,” said the Head of Public Relations.
In the direction of the Head of the NTT Police, the Head of Public Relations continued, the implementation of activities by the National Police should be guided by government regulations regarding things that are prohibited and allowed in every community activity.
Then, the National Police fully supports the Covid-19 task force and carries out supervision and implementation of restrictions on community activities, reducing mobility and eliminating crowds in a humanistic and persuasive manner.
However, if they are reminded that they are still violating the law, the police will enforce the law strictly according to the applicable rules.
The police chiefs in these three regions are also asked to coordinate between districts when reducing mobility by selectively blocking and prioritizing, as well as observe the situation and conditions on the ground in case of an emergency.
So, continued the Head of Public Relations, the implementation of the activity went smoothly and did not confuse the public.
Then, the National Police must continue to carry out advice and supervision regarding the implementation of health protocols.
“Then, members should avoid and prevent arrogant behavior and violence in the field, considering that all of them are currently still in a situation of mutual concern,” explained the Head of Public Relations.
Previously, as many as three regions in NTT will implement PPKM level 4.
“PPKM level 4 will be implemented in three regions in NTT tomorrow, July 26 to August 8, 2021,” said spokesman for the NTT Covid-19 Task Force, Marius Ardu Jelamu, Sunday (25/7/2021).
