Jakarta – The Indonesian Women’s National Volleyball Team has made roster changes ahead of the 2025 AVC Women’s Nations Cup, which will take place in Vietnam from June 7 to 14, 2025. Star player Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi has officially withdrawn from the tournament to prepare for her wedding.
The news was confirmed by Loudry Maspaitella, Deputy Head of Development and Achievement at PP PBVSI, on Tuesday (May 27, 2025). Loudry stated that Megawati had submitted an official withdrawal letter and personally contacted PP PBVSI Chairman Imam Sudjarwo.
“Mega has formally submitted a letter, and it has been received by the Chairman. She even called him directly. The Chairman understood her situation and approved her request, as it was due to her upcoming wedding,” said Loudry.
Loudry further explained that Megawati remains committed to rejoining the team after the AVC Challenge tournament.
In addition to Megawati, two senior players—Arsela Nuari and Aulia Suci Nurfadila—will also miss the tournament. Aulia is recovering from recent shoulder surgery, while Arsela is undergoing rehabilitation for a similar injury.
“Arsela is out due to injury, with a doctor’s note. She’s committed to returning for the SEA V.League. Aulia is also still recovering,” Loudry added.
To fill the gaps, PP PBVSI has called up two promising young players: Dinda Syifa Aulia from East Java and Ajeng Viona Adelia. Both athletes were already on the shortlist of 20 candidates selected by the coaching staff.
“Dinda and Ajeng have been called in to replace Mega and Arsela. They were already included in the top 20 player list,” Loudry confirmed.
At the 2025 AVC Nations Cup, Indonesia is placed in Pool B alongside Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Iran, Mongolia, and New Zealand.
