IdnAround.com — President Prabowo Subianto chaired the Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the Cabinet Meeting Room of the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday, May 5, 2025. The session marked a pivotal moment to evaluate the performance of the Kabinet Merah Putih (Red and White Cabinet) during its first six months in office.
“We are gathered today for the sixth plenary session of the Red and White Cabinet, marking six months since the beginning of our administration,” President Prabowo stated in his opening remarks.
He emphasized that the government had achieved significant and fundamental progress in its early months, laying a solid foundation for the nation’s revival. According to the President, the administration has issued 28 new policies directly affecting the public and produced between 100 and nearly 200 legal instruments.
“Objectively speaking, I believe that within these six months, we have achieved meaningful and fundamental milestones that strengthen the groundwork for our national resurgence,” he asserted.
Despite the accomplishments, President Prabowo stressed the importance of an honest and critical evaluation to avoid complacency. He likened the need for precision in governance to navigating by a compass—minor deviations at the start can lead to major misdirections over time.
“A small deviation in the beginning can lead to a significant divergence in the end,” he warned.
The President also underscored the importance of using the 1945 Constitution and Pancasila as the guiding principles of governance. He described the Constitution as a remarkable product shaped by the nation’s long history of colonization and oppression.
“Let us be honest with ourselves—have we truly implemented Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution as they were meant to be? In my view, the 1945 Constitution is an extraordinary document,” he remarked.
President Prabowo further acknowledged the smooth transition of leadership from former President Joko Widodo to his administration. He noted that seeking counsel from past presidents reflects wisdom in leadership, as it allows for insight from those with firsthand experience.
He concluded by expressing appreciation to all members of the Red and White Cabinet for their collaboration and dedication during the government’s first semester. Although cabinet meetings have not been held frequently, he affirmed that key decisions have been executed effectively and have begun to benefit the Indonesian people.
“I believe we have been able to achieve this through strong cooperation among us,” President Prabowo said.
