IdnAround.com – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) expressed his deep condolences for the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who died as a result of a helicopter crash on Sunday (19/05/2024). President Jokowi conveyed this in his statement before media crew in Agam Regency, West Sumatra, Tuesday (21/05/2024).
“First of all, the Indonesian government and people express their deep sorrow over the death of President Raisi in the helicopter crash he was traveling in,” said President Jokowi.
When asked about the impact of this event on the global economy, President Jokowi hoped that the death of President Raisi would not affect world oil prices, which in turn could affect the prices of other commodities.
“Because if the price of oil rises as a result of this incident, it will have an impact everywhere, to increase the prices of other goods. “We hope there will be no impact like that,” he explained.
It should be noted that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi had a helicopter crash with Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian and other members of the delegation in northwest Iran on Sunday (19/05).
President Raisi visited Indonesia a year ago, to be precise on May 23 2023. In a meeting at the Bogor Presidential Palace, President Joko Widodo and President Raisi discussed the world geopolitical situation and agreed on a number of bilateral cooperation.
