The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police continues to investigate cases of alleged fraud to the Money Laundering Crime (TPPU) of the Quotex platform with the suspect Crazy Rich Bandung, Doni Salmanan. A total of 26 witnesses and 8 expert witnesses have been examined by investigators.
“So far, we have examined 26 witnesses and 8 expert witnesses,” said Director of the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police Brigadier General Asep Edi Suheri in his statement, Friday (March 11, 2022).
Asep said that one of the expert witnesses examined was an Electronic Information and Transaction (ITE) expert. Then there are language and criminal witnesses.
“(Expert witnesses who have been examined include) ITE, language, crime,” he said.
Bareskrim will also examine Doni Salmanan’s wife, next Monday. Bareskrim scheduled the inspection with the manager Doni Salmanan.
“We have summoned the wife and manager of DS (Doni Salmanan),” said Asep.
Asep said that there were other witnesses who would be examined besides his wife and Doni Salmanan’s manager. The investigation is still related to the Quotex case.
“We will check with other witnesses on Monday,” he said.
Previously, Quotex platform affiliate Doni Salmanan was named a suspect in cases of alleged fraud and money laundering (TPPU). The Criminal Investigation Police revealed that Doni has 25,000 members on the Telegram application.
“On Telegram there are 25,000 members. That can be an indication (active) because 25 thousand means that the referral is with him. Because he is with him, he must join Telegram,” said Head of Sub-Directorate I of the Cyber Dittipid Kombes Reinhard Hutagaol to reporters, Tuesday (March 8, 2022).
Reindhard said a total of 22 witnesses had been examined. It will still examine a number of witnesses related to the case.
“The victims are increasing every day. Just now, we have 10 that we want to check, while there are 12 but tomorrow there will be more,” said Reinhard.
