The National Police is a law enforcement agency that has the highest public trust in its performance, which is 26.7%, according to a survey by the Indonesian Charta Political Research Institute. In second place is the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). ) with 25.6%. , the Constitutional Court (MK) received a good vote of 10.7%. Followed by the Attorney General’s Office (8.5%) and the Supreme Court (6.9%). Interestingly, the police are superior to other law enforcement agencies. “I think because the performance of the police is better than the KPK because the KPK does not have direct contact with the general public,” said Yunarto, Monday (12/20/2021).

He explained that the National Police at the Polsek, Polres, and Polda levels are in direct contact with the community, so that might be the reason the Police have received a good assessment, apart from a number of cases involving several Polri personnel.

In another explanation, Yunarto revealed that 50.6% of respondents considered law enforcement in Indonesia to be running well. However, 48.4% of respondents think that law enforcement in the country is still poor. “If you look at the assessment figures from February 2020 to November 2021, the respondents’ assessment of law enforcement in Indonesia tends to be stable at above 50 percent. However, this assessment had dropped to 49.5 percent in the results of the Charta Politica survey in July 2021, then rose again to 50.6 percent in November 2021,” he explained.

Furthermore, poor assessments of law enforcement in Indonesia have stabilized below 40% in the February 2020, May 2020, June 2020, July 2020, January 2021, February 2021 and March 2021 surveys. The poor score on law enforcement in Indonesia began to rise to 47, 3% in July 2021 and again rose to 48.4% in November 2021. The survey was conducted on November 29–December 6, 2021 through face-to-face interviews using a structured questionnaire. The number of samples is 1,200 respondents spread over 34 provinces. The methodology used is a multistage random sampling method with a margin of error of ±(2.83%) at a 95% confidence level.
