However, the National Police Chief reminded that although spectators were allowed to watch, people who wanted to watch the XX Papua PON matches spread across four regencies/cities in the easternmost province of Indonesia still had to meet several requirements.
According to him, the requirement for the number of spectators is only 25% of the total capacity of the arena or stadium and must be vaccinated. He said: “Our advice is related to activities for the audience.

The National Police Chief appealed to the public to take advantage of the TNI-Polri vaccine outlets and health service institutions to provide the best service to the Papuan people.
“In addition to this vaccination, we continue to order other task force actions to ensure its safety so that the operation of PON XX Papua goes well,” said Sigit.
XX Papua PON will be held in Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Mimika Regency, and Meluk Regency on October 2-15 2021.
PON XX has 37 sports and around 10,000 athletes and staff/officials from 34 provinces participated in the competition.
The opening of the XX PON will be held at the Lukas Enembe Stadium on October 2, which is planned to be attended by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.
There are 9,371 members of the TNI and Polri who are responsible for securing the XX PON in Papua.
