Jakarta, CNN Indonesia — The Indonesian National Police (Polri) is currently still processing the crowd permit for the 2021 Liga 1 which is planned to be rolled out on August 27.
Liga 1 2021 permits from the police are urgently needed by PSSI and PT Liga Indonesia Baru as competition operators as guarantees for participants.
The permit issue arose after Menpora Zainudin Amali recommended that the 2021 Liga 1 could be held on 27 August. Regarding the crowd permit, the Minister of Youth and Sports guaranteed that the police would immediately give it.
However, when confirmed, the Police said they were still processing the 2021 Liga 1 competition permit.
“It is still in the process,” said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono to reporters, Tuesday (10/8).
He said the issuance of the permit was still being discussed with a number of related parties. For example, said Argo, such as the Ministry of Youth and Sports to the Covid-19 Task Force.
According to Argo, his party will make an official announcement with these agencies when the permit has been issued.
“For the league, we will give a separate press conference. Later with the Minister of Youth and Sports, it means that later we will provide information to our friends when we will give permission,” said Argo.
The League 1 event continues to be pushed back from the previously prepared schedule. Now, it is planned that the football league will start on August 27, which means a week behind the initial concept on August 20.
This competition was previously forced to stop due to the Covid-19 pandemic in mid-March 2020. PSSI had planned to resume activities on October 1st.
However, the League did not receive a recommendation for implementation due to the Covid-19 pandemic that is still spreading in Indonesia. After that, it was planned that the league would roll out in February 2021.
But finally the 2020 League 1 was canceled and PSSI planned to start a new season in July 2021. The pandemic situation was still not under control, the Emergency PPKM was implemented and finally the kick off of Liga 1 continued to be postponed until now.
