Muchamad Nabil Haroen, Member of Commission IX of the DPR RI from the PDI-P faction, appreciated the collaboration of the Covid-19 vaccination program carried out by the TNI-Polri with Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).
Nabil assessed that the TNI and Polri are currently the backbone of handling the pandemic and accelerating vaccination.
“The TNI and Polri have worked hard to help the government and the Indonesian people in a pandemic crisis situation due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus with various variants,” Nabil said to Tribunnews.com on Sunday (8/8/2021).
In fact, Nabil said the current situation, with the emergence of new delta variants and variants in Indonesia, has made the situation more dangerous and challenging.
The current situation, said Nabil, requires a quick and accurate response for handling.
Furthermore, Nabil also said that health workers and nurses at various hospitals (RS) in Indonesia had worked extra hard to handle the pandemic. Some of them even lost their lives.
“We have lost many of the nation’s best sons and daughters, who are fighting at the forefront of handling Covid in various hospitals and health centers,” he said.
Nabil also urged that the governance and management of health in Indonesia should be even better.
“The Ministry of Health must be at the forefront of improving health services, which must carry out bureaucratic reforms to adapt to the global crisis situation,” he said.
Bureaucratic reform, said Nabil, must bring in officials at the Echelon I and II levels of the Ministry of Health who are more capable, adaptive and responsive to the current situation.
Nabil assessed that this improvement could be made by reviewing the performance of officials at echelon I and II levels at the Ministry of Health.
“Those who have been managing the execution of policies, as well as preparing various strategic programs for risk management.”
“If conditions worsen in the health sector, of course, something will go wrong at the level of regulators and system providers.”
“There needs to be a performance review, system improvement and, if necessary, refreshment of officials within the Ministry of Health,” he explained.
The man, who also serves as the General Chair of the Pagar Nusa NU Central Executive, said that NU and the Islamic boarding school community strongly support the handling of the pandemic and the acceleration of vaccination.
“The TNI-Polri and NU cooperation in various regions as well as Islamic boarding schools will accelerate the handling of the pandemic while continuing to educate the public to maintain cleanliness, strengthen body resistance, and comply with health protocols from the government,” he said.
To note, the TNI-Polri collaboration with NU in the vaccination program was also held today, Sunday (8/8/2021) in Yogyakarta.
Precisely in Ratan, Bantul, and Yogyakarta.
On this occasion, the TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto and the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo also reviewed the implementation of the vaccination.
