JawaPos.com – The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Police will divide SIM C into 3 types. Namely SIM C, CI, and CII. This division is categorized according to the cylinder of the vehicle being driven.
The Director of Registration and Identification (Regident) of the National Police Korlantas Brigadier General Yusuf ensured that, even though there is this type of distribution, the cost of making a SIM remains the same. Namely, Rp. 100 thousand for a new manufacture, while Rp. 75 thousand for an extension.
“The cost of making SIM C, CI, and CII remains the same,” Yusuf told reporters, Monday (2/8).
However, the distribution of 3 types of SIM C has not been implemented at this time. The National Police has temporarily postponed the implementation of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).
“But now we are still implementing restrictions on community activities (PPKM), so socialization is prioritized first,” explained Yusuf.
Previously, the Korlantas Polri would impose a classification for a type C driving license (SIM C). There are three groups. Namely, SIM C, SIM CI, and SIM CII. The three classifications are based on the engine capacity of the motorcycle.
Director of Registration and Identification of the National Police Korlantas Brigadier General Yusuf said that initially the regulation on the classification of SIM C was planned to take effect this month. However, because currently there are still restrictions on community activities (PPKM), finally the plan is still in the socialization stage. “The priority is PPKM first,” he said.
In Police Regulation Number 5/2021 concerning Issuance and Marking of SIMs, it is stated that there are three types of SIMs. SIM C for motorcycles with engine capacities up to 250 cc. Then, SIM CI is intended for motorcycles with engine capacities of 250 cc to 500 cc. SIM CII is intended for motorcycle riders with engine capacities above 500 cc. “The difference is the engine cylinder capacity,” he explained.
