Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md said that until now, the domestic stock of Covid-19 vaccine for the government’s vaccination program is still sufficient. However, the government lacks the number of vaccinators to accelerate the achievement of vaccinations.
“Why, because suddenly there is awareness that people want to be vaccinated, then many are queuing for vaccines, then the vaccinators who inject are not enough,” said Mahfud in a virtual Gathering with Alim Ulama and Ponpes Caregivers, Saturday (31/7).
Mahfud said, to increase the number of vaccinators, the government cooperated with the TNI, Polri, and the State Intelligence Agency (BIN). The TNI, Polri, and BIN personnel, he continued, were given training before being deployed as vaccinators.
“Medical students from the point of view of the sequence of lectures have not yet taken the injection, they will just learn theory, those who are just learning theory will also be trained to inject vaccines so that it can accelerate,” he said.
Furthermore, Mahfud hopes that with the addition of the number of vaccinators, more people will want to be vaccinated. “Ulama, please help those who want to be vaccinated, let them know where it is, and be made aware that vaccines are important, not lethal,” said Mahfud.
