VIVA – Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police’s Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, said that the alleged involvement of the former General Secretary of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Munarman in acts of terrorism, is very clear.
“Everything is clear, it means that some of the activities that took place in Jakarta, Makassar, Medan are seen as violating the Terrorism Law,” said Rusdi at the National Police Headquarters on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
However, Rusdi admitted that he could not tell whether Munarman belonging to a certain terrorist group. According to him, currently Densus 88 Anti-terror Polri is still investigating whether Munarman stands alone or is there another party.
“It is still being processed by the Densus whether there are other parties around M. The Densus sees all possibilities from Brother M, ”he said.
According to him, the public can follow the developments in the alleged terrorism case that ensnared Munarman at court later, wherever he is involved. Currently, Densus 88 is still working closely to resolve the Munarman case.
“We will see it later, it will be in an open court, all of them. He was everywhere, involved in all kinds of incidents, ”he explained.
It is known that Munarman was arrested by Densus 88 Anti-terror at his house in Modern Hills Housing, Cinangka, Pamulang, South Tangerang on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, around 15.30 WIB.
It is suspected that Munarman was involved in the initiation at UIN Jakarta, allegiance in Makassar and allegiance in Medan. So, there are three things (the case). Meanwhile, the police are still investigating Munarman.
Then, Densus 88 together with the South Sulawesi Police team also searched the former headquarters of the FPI organization on Jalan Sungai Limboto, Ujung Pandang, Makassar City, South Sulawesi.
A number of items were secured by officers, such as a brown cardboard box, nameplate, and a red plastic package including a banner bearing the FPI logo and name.
