Through ‘Polantas Menyapa’ Initiative, Jambi Ojol Drivers Feel Heard and Embraced by the Police

JAMBI — The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of the Jambi Regional Police successfully organized a highly humanistic community initiative titled “Polantas Menyapa dan Melayani” (Traffic Police Greeting and Serving). The event was held at the Pojok Lantas hub, Ditlantas Polda Jambi, on Monday (June 8, 2026).

This strategic assembly was designed to reinforce institutional coordination and operational synergy among the police force, cross-sectoral partner institutions, and the entire online motorcycle taxi (ojol) community across Jambi Province. The valuable momentum also officially marked the very first regional activity of the Asosiasi Ojol Nusantara (AON) in Jambi Province.

Director of Traffic for the Jambi Police, Kombes Pol. Adi Beny Cahyono, S.H., S.I.K., was present to directly moderate the warm and interactive dialogue sessions.

The gathering also welcomed representatives from the Jambi Regional Office of PT Jasa Raharja, led by Agung, the medical team from Dokkes Polda Jambi, and approximately 25 ojol drivers representing various riding platforms and local hobbyist circles.

A Warm Framework for Addressing Road Safety Characters

Within the inviting framework of police outreach, participants engaged in open discussions surrounding the core essence of public road safety. They evaluated the vital role of ojol riders as traffic safety pioneers, alongside the crucial need to nurture harmonious partnerships between law enforcement and the public.

Kombes Pol. Adi Beny Cahyono emphasized that the Polantas Menyapa dan Melayani program stands as tangible proof of the National Police’s physical presence in community spaces. Online drivers, whose daily livelihoods rely entirely on the road network, remain the absolute priority of this sympathetic campaign.

This routine program effectively transformed into a robust space for networking and kamseltibcarlantas educational outreach. The police, alongside their institutional partners, conveyed critical messages regarding road safety protocols, drivers’ physical health maintenance, and disciplined driving habits aimed at driving down traffic accidents.

One of the founding figures behind the establishment of the Asosiasi Ojol Nusantara, Dianton, revealed that the AON forum was born purely from a shift toward positive perceptions experienced by on-road drivers. The consistent humanistic approach practiced by the National Police served as the primary spark for this development.

Uniting All Driver Demographics Beyond Organizational Boundaries

According to Dianton’s explanation, AON serves as an umbrella association that embraces two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and traditional base motorcycle taxis (ojek pangkalan). The association moves collectively without drawing dividing lines based on jacket colors or past organizational backgrounds.

“The Asosiasi Ojol Nusantara was not born simply as an organization; it represents the concrete action, care, and transformation that we have felt directly from the National Police. The Polantas Menyapa dan Melayani program has unlocked an excellent communication channel between officers and ojol drivers. We feel heard, embraced, and invited to play a core role in establishing road safety,” Dianton explained openly.

He added that the spirit to act as traffic safety pioneers has officially taken root as a joint commitment among ojol drivers throughout the Jambi region. The ojol community expressed full readiness to play an active part in constructing a healthy foundation for orderly public lanes.

On the same occasion, Dianton also conveyed the community’s high appreciation and collective pride for the Head of Korlantas Polri, Irjen Pol. Dr. Drs. Agus Suryonugroho, S.H., M.Hum., who recently completed his doctoral studies in Legal Sciences.

Congratulations on Kakorlantas Polri’s Doctoral Degree

For online drivers, the figure of Kakorlantas holds an incredibly unique space in their hearts. The two-star general is seen as deeply understanding the dynamic field challenges daily encountered by those fighting for their livelihoods on public asphalt.

“We extend our warmest congratulations and success to the Head of Korlantas Polri on successfully attaining his Doctoral degree. To us, he is far more than a police general; he is a true friend and a figure who is always present among Indonesian ojol riders. He understands our reality, listens to our aspirations, and teaches us the absolute value of traffic safety,” Dianton asserted enthusiastically.

He noted that the various innovative programs initiated by Kakorlantas Polri, particularly “Polantas Menyapa dan Melayani,” have successfully broken down the rigid patterns of past police-ojol relationships. The initiative has successfully replaced old communication barriers with a dynamic that is much closer, more humanistic, and mutually supportive.

Through the execution of this inaugural gathering, AON Jambi hopes to stand consistently as a strategic partner to the National Police, Jasa Raharja, the local government, and all relevant transportation stakeholders. The event concluded with an open group photo session, light discussions, and a declaration of joint commitment to safeguard this operational synergy.

“Different jackets, different communities, but one single goal: to become safety pioneers and spread goodness across Indonesia,” the community representatives concluded in unison.
