Central ombok – The Head of the National Police’s Security Maintenance Agency (Kabaharkam) Komjen Pol Arief Sulistyanto reviewed the final preparations for securing the 2021 World Superbike (WSBK) racing event at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
“So today, I and the assistance team from the National Police Headquarters together with the NTB Police Chief conducted a review in the Mandalika area,” said Komjen Pol Arief in Central Lombok, Wednesday.
Kabaharkam Polri is actively reviewing preparations for the 2021 WSBK security which will take place on 19-21 November, by air and sea.
For monitoring via air, the Kabaharkam Polri reviewed security preparations using a Leonardo (AgustaWestland) AW-169 helicopter with a flight route from the NTB Police Headquarters, Mataram City, to the Fisheries Port in Teluk Awang, Central Lombok Regency.
“We carry out using helicopters, air patrols, to see objects to be secured and how the security ‘settings’ have been carried out by the NTB Police,” he said.
Then for the inspection at sea, the Kabaharkam Polri together with a group from the National Police Headquarters and the NTB Regional Police monitored the security using the Baladewa-8002 Police Ship belonging to the Directorate of Water Police (Ditpolair) of the Baharkam Police Corps of Water and Air Police (Korpolairud). The group departed from the Fishing Port in Teluk Awang towards the southern waters of the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok Regency.
After carrying out the review, Kabaharkam Polri assessed that all personnel had taken up roles and duties according to standard operating procedures in the same class as international rules. The security rules have also been agreed with the organizers.
“So everything has been ‘setting’ and we have discussed with the NTB Police Chief that all personnel are ready to carry out security. Hopefully this can all be obeyed together, both by ‘officials’, players, and even visitors must also obey the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure),” he said.
From the results of his review with the National Police Headquarters entourage, Kabaharkam Polri hopes that this international-scale racing event can go according to plan. No interruptions until the show is over.
“And keep in mind, health protocols must still be tightened, so that this ‘event’ ends, there is no spike in COVID-19. Because vaccination in NTB has been carried out up to 71 percent and this is a very good step in preventing a pandemic in NTB,” said Arief.
