Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. TNI Commander Marshal Dr. Hadi Tjahjanto, S.I.P., National Police Chief General of Police Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Sc., and Minister of Health (Menkes) Ir. Budi Gunadi Sadikin, CHFC, CLU., attended the ‘Independence Vaccination Volunteer Appreciation Night’ at Polda Metro Jaya, Tuesday (17/8/2021).

In his remarks, the National Police Chief emphasized that, in the midst of the current difficult situation, it can only be passed if all elements of society have a sense of unity and integrity to face the Covid-19 Pandemic.

“All of that we can go through and go through if we want to unite, which is bound by strength. The strength of the sense of nationality, the strength of the sense of unity and love for the entire Indonesian people and nation,” said the National Police Chief in his remarks.

The former Banten Police Chief explained that some time ago, Indonesian daily cases had reached 56 thousand. That made the situation all the more difficult. So, said the National Police Chief, the Central Government will carry out policies to handle and control the growth rate of the corona virus, which is called the Second Wave.

“So the central government made a policy on how to deal with the situation at that time, we entered the Micro PPKM, then the Emergency PPKM. At that time, it was to inhibit and regulate to reduce the rate of mobility because it is one of the key parts of reducing the rate of Covid-19,” said the National Police Chief.

The central government, continued the National Police Chief, is also strengthening activities such as adding locations for community isolation. Remember, at that time the BOR rate was very high. Thus, the Government has prepared a new isolation place to help the capacity of the Kemayoran Athlete House.

“There is a new isolation place to add to the Athlete’s House, there is the Nagrak Pasar Rumput Flat, there is an integrated isolation in other areas we are building,” said the National Police Chief.

In addition, the central government is also strengthening tracing and testing as well as treatment or 3T. The National Police Chief said that at that time the Government had to determine which ones had to be treated in isoters and which had to be treated at the hospital.

Not only that, the National Police Chief also stated that the central government, through the Minister of Health, was also encouraging and accelerating mass vaccination. Therefore, according to the National Police Chief, the TNI and Polri are moving to support the Government’s program related to the acceleration of vaccination.

“We together with the Commander in Chief are moving to accelerate the mass vaccination activity so that it can be carried out more quickly,” said the National Police Chief.

According to the National Police Chief, on July 1, the Indonesian government’s target of one million vaccines in one day has been realized. And currently, the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), has set a target to carry out two million doses of vaccine in one day.

“The President has given a target that by the end of the month it will reach two million. Of course, steps need to be taken so that this figure can be realized. We have carried out various strategies for carrying out vaccinations, of course, starting from vaccination booths, TNI-Polri vaccination raids, mobile vaccinations to touch unreachable areas, and some time ago when I came up with the idea how to accelerate the Metro Police Chief in welcoming the idea of independent vaccination, ” said the Chief of Police.

Currently, the National Police Chief is grateful, the target of free vaccination in DKI Jakarta has reached 100 percent for the first dose of vaccination. In fact, this achievement has occurred since last August 8th.

According to the National Police Chief, the achievement of the target was due to the organization and hard work of volunteers, local government and elements of society who are already willing to work hand in hand to pursue targets from the government regarding vaccination.

“This vaccination can be carried out at the lowest level at the RW level, in 900 RW if I’m not mistaken, assisted by the strength of more than 3,000 volunteer teams. So then that achievement can be achieved,” said the National Police Chief.

Even so, the National Police Chief stressed, it must be a stepping stone to pursue the Government’s target of realizing Herd Immunity or immunity of Indonesian people group of 70 percent.

“And this activity, of course, I order all regions to replicate and adopt what the Polda Metro Jaya has done. So that the central government’s vaccinations are strengthened by the TNI, the National Police to support the acceleration of vaccination in the provinces and regencies so that it can run well and the acceleration and the results will really be felt by the community,” said the National Police Chief.

Although the achievement of the first dose in DKI was 100 percent, the National Police Chief challenged the Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Fadil Imran, to complete 100 percent of the second dose.

“But I still challenge the end of August, the beginning of September the second dose of 100 percent I call on all regions to do the same, we work hand in hand and work together. Ministry of Health, TNI, Polri to support the activities of all regions in the province and district. So that the government’s target of establishing Herd Immunity by vaccinating 70 percent of the Indonesian people can be achieved,” said the National Police Chief.

At the end of his remarks, the National Police Chief invited all participants to give a high sense of respect and appreciation to the volunteers, vaccinators, health workers, TNI and Polri soldiers who are at the forefront. This is also done to all those who have died while fighting and carrying out their duties.

“Before ending this speech, our guests, please stand by for my permission to lead the respect for all volunteers, fellow vaccinators, health workers, TNI soldiers, Polri who are at the forefront of fighting in the Covid-19 Pandemic and some of our colleagues have died,” said the Chief of Police.
