MEDAN DELI — Community vigilance once again yielded concrete results in countering illicit narcotics distribution in Medan. The Drug Investigation Unit of the Belawan Harbor Police uncovered a suspected crystal meth distribution scheme on Mangaan I Street, Mabar Hilir Ward, Medan Deli District, following up on a public complaint.
A 31-year-old man identified as H, suspected of acting as a dealer, was secured alongside three men suspected of being users: J (49), DA (32), and AF (24). The arrest took place on Thursday (17/9/2026) at approximately 11:00 AM WIB at the reported location.
Attempted Concealment of Evidence and Scene Operations
Head of the Drug Investigation Unit at Belawan Harbor Police, Police Assistant Commissioner A.R. Riza, explained that the operation originated from reports of suspicious activities inside a residence in Mabar Hilir. Investigators conducted field surveillance to determine a precise time for interception.
Upon apprehension, suspect H attempted to discard evidence using his left hand. Officers quickly contained the situation and seized four packets of crystal meth, one empty clip plastic bag, a pointed pipette, a white box, and IDR 60,000 in cash.
Interrogation and Network Expansion
During preliminary questioning, suspect H admitted to distributing crystal meth within his residential neighborhood. Meanwhile, urine tests conducted on the three accompanying individuals yielded positive results for methamphetamine.
Commissioner Riza emphasized that the investigation remains active to trace the supplier and map the wider distribution network in the area. All four suspects and confiscated physical evidence are currently held at the Belawan Harbor Police Headquarters for further legal proceedings.
