TEGAL — Community concerns regarding illegal gambling were met with prompt police action. The Quick Response Unit (URC) of the Tegal Police raided a suspected cockfighting arena in Wangandawa Village, Talang District, on Sunday afternoon (20/9/2026), shortly after receiving a citizen report.
The initial report was logged through the Tegal Police Hotline 110 service at approximately 10:20 AM WIB. Information submitted by the public was immediately dispatched to duty personnel for direct field follow-up without delay.
Arrival at Scene in Under 30 Minutes
Duty Officer of Tegal Police, First Police Inspector Septiar Setiawan, stated that the joint force arrived at the scene at approximately 10:53 AM WIB, less than thirty minutes after the call was received. An on-site inspection confirmed active cockfighting operations as reported by local residents.
During the raid, officers apprehended a man identified as DHP, a resident of Tegal Regency suspected of involvement in the gambling operation. Alongside securing the suspect, officers confiscated physical evidence including one set of cockfighting ring equipment, four fighting roosters, and six motorcycles parked at the site.

This social order enforcement operation involved cross-functional collaboration across various units, including the Duty Officer team, Operational Duty officers, Talang Sector Police, Traffic Unit duty officers, and the Criminal Investigation Unit of Tegal Police. The suspect and all seized evidence have been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Unit of Tegal Police for further examination and legal processing.
