Police Athlete Wins Another Gold Medal at the Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week

IdnAround.com – Bripda Zaidil Al Muqaddim, a member of the Banda Aceh Police and one of the police athletes representing the Aceh Province contingent, competed in the men’s team foil event of the fencing competition at the XXI National Sports Week (PON) Aceh-North Sumatra.

During the match, Bripda Zaidil Al Muqaddim, alongside his teammates Erwan Tona and Yudi Anggara Putra, delivered an outstanding performance, securing a gold medal after defeating the West Java contingent.

Thanks to their hard work, the Aceh contingent achieved its third gold medal through the men’s team foil event, in a match held at the Fencing Hall of Harapan Bangsa Stadium Complex, Banda Aceh, on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

The Head of Public Relations of the Aceh Regional Police, Kombes Joko Krisdiyanto, expressed his pride in the achievement of Bripda Zaidil Al Muqaddim and his team, as they successfully contributed a gold medal for Aceh in the men’s team foil fencing event.

“This is yet another gold medal won by the athletes of the Aceh Regional Police. It is certainly a great source of pride and deserves recognition. Hopefully, this will motivate other police athletes,” Joko said in a written statement on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

For information, the fencing competition at the XXI PON Aceh-North Sumatra 2024 features 12 events for both men and women. The men’s events are individual sabre, individual foil, individual épée, team sabre, team foil, and team épée.

The women’s events are the same: individual sabre, individual foil, individual épée, team sabre, team foil, and team épée.

A total of 26 contingents participated in the fencing events, which took place from September 11 to 16, 2024. On Monday, September 16, 2024, the final day of the fencing competition will feature the men’s team épée and the women’s team sabre events.
