Jokowi Celebrates Rizki Juniansyah’s Historic Olympic Gold

IdnAround.com – Weightlifter Rizki Juniansyah has won a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, and President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) extended his congratulations to Rizki.

The congratulatory message was posted on Jokowi’s official Instagram account on Friday, August 9, 2024, accompanied by a photo of Rizki competing at the Olympics.

“The second gold medal for Indonesia is presented by Rizki Juniansyah in the men’s 73 kg weightlifting category,” Jokowi wrote.

Jokowi expressed his pride in Rizki’s achievement, highlighting that Rizki set a new Olympic record.

“With a total lift of 354 kg, consisting of a 155 kg snatch and a 199 kg clean and jerk, Rizki broke the Olympic record for the clean and jerk,” said Jokowi.

Jokowi also noted that Rizki has become Indonesia’s first weightlifter to win an Olympic gold medal. He extended his thanks and congratulations to Rizki for his remarkable accomplishment.

“Indonesia’s first weightlifter to win a gold medal at the Olympics. Thank you, Rizki. Congratulations!” Jokowi wrote.
