Indonesian eFootball Team Triumphs in AFC eAsian Cup Qatar 2023 Final

IdnAround.com –The Indonesian eFootball national team succeeded in clinching the title of the AFC eAsian Cup Qatar 2023 after defeating Japan in the final match at the Virtuocity Arena Doha, Qatar, on Sunday night or early Monday morning WIB.

The Indonesian eFootball team, featuring Elga Cahya Putra, Rizky Faidan, and Akbar Paudie, managed to overcome Japan with a final score of 2-0 in a best-of-three format, as broadcasted by the AFC Asian Cup.

Indonesia, fielding Elga and Faidan, held Japan to a 1-1 draw in the first leg through a sudden death penalty shootout, with a final score of 3-2 in favor of Indonesia, before sealing the victory with a 1-0 scoreline in the second leg.

This marked the second encounter between Indonesia and Japan in the tournament after both previously competed in Group D.

In the first leg, Indonesia maintained a 60 percent ball possession, yet the game remained tight without any goals. Nonetheless, Indonesia managed to score in the 70th minute through Ramadhan Sananta after an assist from Hokky Caraka.

Although Japan managed to equalize to 1-1 at the end of the second half, Indonesia then won the match through a sudden death penalty shootout with a final score of 3-2.

In the second leg, Indonesia once again took the lead with a free-kick goal from Dimas Drajad in the 100th minute, and successfully maintained the lead until the end of extra time, showcasing the resilience of Elga and Faidan.

Thus, Indonesia successfully clinched the title of the AFC eAsian Cup Qatar 2023, becoming the first team to achieve glory in the eFootball Asian Cup tournament.
