G20 Becomes Momentum to Lift the MSME Economy

Indonesia’s G20 presidency has become a momentum to lift the local economy and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) players. Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki said the G20 was an interesting event for MSME players.

This was conveyed during his visit to the Bali Art Center, Denpasar, Bali. The visit was accompanied by the Governor of Bali I Wayan Koster and the Commissioner of Telkomsel as well as the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Indonesia Creative Cities Network (ICCN) Wishnutama Kusubandio.

“This visit is related to the G20 Summit because we have seen MSME products from Bali that can be used for committee uniforms, souvenirs and so on,” said Teten on Thursday (March 24, 2022). He hopes that the G20 can lift the local economy.

Then, in addition, Minister Teten said that MSME products could also promote or trade through digital media. For example, by making a QR Code to make it easier for hotel guests who take part in the G20 activities.

“So if you buy souvenirs and food, you can go through the QR Code and in Bali there is already one, you just need to continue. In essence, we use the G20 as a promotion for MSMEs,” he said.

Meanwhile, Wishnutama added that the G20 could be used for the local economy. Bali during the Covid-19 Pandemic experienced economic difficulties.

“So it’s not only tourism that we raise. It’s just that we also raise the economy of local products. We hope this will be better than before,” he explained.
