Central Java Police to Secure 3,000 Churches during Christmas Celebration

 

Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Pol Drs Ahmad Luthfi SH Sst MK said his staff together with the TNI and other communities would provide security guarantees for Central Java Christians who worship or attend Christmas mass in churches.

This was announced yesterday by the Kapolda, who holds the title of security force with the ranks of the TNI and related agencies, stating that the police, TNI and related agencies in Central Java will secure more than 3,000 churches during the 2021 Christmas celebrations. Security will be carried out openly and privately.

With this security, it is hoped that Christians will be more confident and comfortable in carrying out their worship, the Police, TNI and affected parties will also ensure that health protocols are implemented properly in all churches.

For this reason, he asked church administrators to also ensure that people feel safe and comfortable and implement health protocols. , to limit the number of people in the church.

“We have secured three thousand churches in our area. To provide security guarantees for our brothers and sisters who carry out Christmas celebrations. With provisions in accordance with government recommendations. The church is 50 percent (capacity), the church runs the health protocol. In addition, the Police Chief also asked the public during the Christmas celebration to help prevent the spread of Covid19. The hope is that after Christmas and New Year’s celebrations there will be no more Covid-19 cases in the Central Java region.
