Police Successfully Dismantle Drug Trafficking in Indonesia-Malaysia Network Worth IDR 91 Billion

Jakarta – The Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Officer Unit managed to uncover the distribution of methamphetamine from the Indonesia-Malaysia network worth Rp. 91 billion by securing four suspects and as much as 61 Kilograms of evidence of methamphetamine.

In his statement, the Head of Drugs at the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Indraweinny Panji Yoga said that the disclosure of this case began with information related to drug transactions at KM 208 Rest Area Cirebon towards Jakarta. The team then made an arrest, but the perpetrator instead hit our members and ran away.

“Then this case was developed until they succeeded in arresting one suspect with the initials C, from whom the police secured a sack of narcotics of methamphetamine. Furthermore, another suspect was arrested with the initials MF. Armed with information from suspects C and MF, the Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Task Force Team managed to arrest two other suspects with the initials E and TH. E was arrested in a house which is a storage warehouse for methamphetamine and secured a sack of methamphetamine,” added the Head of Narcotics Unit at the Central Jakarta Metro Police.

“While TH is known to be a liaison to a Malaysian network drug controller. From the four suspects, we managed to secure 61 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. If you look at the packaging, this is Wanyingwang tea and it is not produced in Indonesia. Usually produced in Myanmar and Malaysia as transit countries only and is planned to be distributed in Jakarta. From the results of the investigation, it turned out that the four suspects had been operating in distributing methamphetamine since 4 months ago. As a result of their actions, the suspects are now snared under Article 114 paragraph 2 subsidiary Article 115 paragraph 2, subsidiary again 112 paragraph 2 junto Article 132 paragraph 1 RI Law Number 35 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of life imprisonment or the death penalty, “said the Head of the Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit.
