Arrest 4 Suspects, Bareskrim Police Search for Cannabis Field Locations on Aceh-Medan-Jakarta Network

The Bareskrim Polri has named 4 suspects in the case of narcotics trafficking in the Aceh-Medan-Jakarta network. The police are now looking for marijuana fields from the network.

“We will develop it there is a possibility that someone will supply it. Who is the intermediary, where are the fields we are looking for, or who is the mastermind,” said Wadirditpidnarkoba Kombes Jayadi to reporters at the National Police Headquarters, Thursday (11/26/2021).

Not only 4 people, the police are now hunting for 2 other people who are on the wanted list (DPO).

“His role is that of a courier. One has a provider,” he said.

Previously, the Directorate of Narcotics Crime of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police arrested a number of people who were members of the Aceh – Medan – Jakarta marijuana trafficking syndicate. In total, the police confiscated 224 kilograms of the disclosure activity.

In total there are four people who currently have the status of suspects. They were SP (24), RN (21) and LH (21) who played the role of couriers and were arrested in Palembang, South Sumatra.

One more suspect is SD (41) who acts as a controller. He was arrested in the Medan area, North Sumatra.

“Illicit trafficking of marijuana types involving networks in Aceh, Medan and Jakarta. Investigators obtained evidence of 224 kilograms of marijuana,” said Wadirtipid-drug Kombes Jayadi at the National Police Headquarters, Thursday (26/11/2021).

This case, Jaya said, began on September 9, 2021. At that time, investigators received information related to the movement of marijuana circulation from Aceh to Jakarta.

This information was then followed up by investigators until finally new information was obtained which stated that the suspects were in the Palembang area, South Sumatra. Finally, three suspects namely SP, RN and LH were arrested on November 11, 2021.

It did not stop there, investigators participated in the development and received news that the network controller was in Medan, North Sumatra. Based on this information, the police moved to the location and arrested the SD.

“Then in Medan, we managed to arrest one suspect so that the total suspects that we detained were four people. Three people at the South Sumatra crime scene. Then one person at the Medan crime scene,” he added.

Jayadi continued, investigators are still pursuing two other people involved in the network. The two people are currently on the wanted list (DPO) who are known to be in Aceh.

“The two people we have developed in the Aceh area are still being sought by our investigators,” said Jayadi.

For his actions, the four suspects were charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 and Article 132 of Law Number 35 of 2009 and Article 111 paragraph 2, in conjunction with Article 132 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with a death penalty or life imprisonment.
